Automated Disaster Recovery using Cloudwatch Alarms

Kia ora, dear members!

A highly available environment is standard best practice in modern times for maximum up-time of your systems. However, there are cases where this is simply not possible, especially in cases such as legacy systems where it is still a necessity to operate servers as ‘Pets’ rather than the preferred ‘Cattle’ standard.

In this presentation, Geoff Loh – Solutions Architect at CyberCX, will go through how such systems can be set up for Disaster Recovery in an automated way to minimize downtime and effectively make the environment Highly Available.

Join us on this fantastic night of friendship, networking, delicious pizzas, and beers, kindly sponsored by Mantel and AWS.

When: 5 pm on 16th May
Where: “Spaces”, Level 17, PwC Tower, 15 Customs Street West · Auckland

Agenda
5:00 pm – Welcome & Networking
5:30 – Food & beverages
6:00 – Talk: “Automated Disaster Recovery using Cloudwatch Alarma” / Geoff Loh (Solutions Architect at CyberCX)
6:40 – Networking

We look forward to seeing you there!
